Independent Repair Shops Consistent with Filtration Purchases
Whether it for domestic, Asian or European vehicles, independent repair shops make the WD their first choice when it comes to filtration products. However, for European vehicles (64.6 percent), the WD gets slightly less business than they do for domestic (65.8 percent) and Asian (65.4 percent) vehicles.
“The WD is the primary choice by a wide margin when it comes to independent repair shops purchasing filtration products,” said Bill Thompson, president and CEO of IMR Inc. “However, for European vehicles, the car dealers get their highest percentage of business at 3.9 percent compared to only 2.9 percent for domestic vehicles and 3.5 percent for Asian vehicles. The retailers are very consistent in the percentage of business they get from repair shops as retailers receive a little more than 31 percent of the business in all three vehicle categories.”
