That Oil Change Reminder Sticker is Paying Dividends According to IMR CCAMS Survey

Almost 42 percent of DIFM (Do-It-For-Me) customers said that the reason they took their vehicle in for an oil change was because of the reminder sticker on the inside of their windshield. However, in IMR Inc.’s Continuing Consumer Automotive Maintenance Survey (CCAMS), only 16 percent of DIYers cited the reminder sticker as their No. 1 reason for performing an oil change. In the case of DIYers, over 45 percent said it was seasonal maintenance that prompted them to do an oil change.

“The small investment in purchasing reminder stickers definitely pays off when it comes time for DIFM customers to get their oil changed,” said Bill Thompson, president and CEO of IMR Inc. “This data also reveals that when the seasons change, DIYers make it point to change their oil, so retail stores should be prepared with the proper amount of products.”
