Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Service & Maintenance Trends

Slightly more than one quarter (26.8%) of general automotive repair shops serviced hybrid vehicles in the past month while 8.8% of general automotive repair shops serviced electric vehicles in the past month. For the percentage of shops that serviced electric\hybrid vehicles last month, a significant percentage of those shops indicated they saw an increase in eclectic\hybrid vehicles from the prior month. Additionally, shops have seen an increase in these vehicles coming in for service over the past three years as well. Most respondents indicated that while they have experienced issues servicing these vehicles, most vehicles are coming in for maintenance items.
