IMR Inc. CCAMS Survey Shows Failure No. 1 Reason for Lighting to be Replaced

IMR Inc.’s Continuing Consumer Automotive Maintenance Survey (CCAMS) reveals that the No. 1 reason both DIYers and DIFM customers replace the lighting on their vehicles is failure. Over 73 percent of DIYers and 66.6 percent of DIFM customers said the No. 1 reason the lighting is repaired or serviced is simply due to failure.

“Unlike with an oil change, where the reminder sticker sends a motorist in for service, or with brakes, where the driver may hear screeching, with lighting, in most cases, it is strictly failure that makes the vehicle owner replace the lighting,” said Bill Thompson, president and CEO of IMR Inc. “Our CCAMS survey shows that only a few vehicle owners are preventative or follow the scheduled maintenance plan when it comes to lighting systems.”
